Thanks so much!
๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ ๐ค | Within the four walls of every classroom are learners ready to learn, dreams waiting to grow, and teachers prepared to inspire. Today, the halls of schools across the Schools Division of Calapan City came alive once more with the sound of footsteps, the warmth of shared smiles, and the excitement of new beginnings.
In line with the implementation of the three-term calendar structure in basic education, the first week gently unfolds as the Opening Block, a purposeful beginning devoted to developmentally appropriate activities that warmly welcome learners, nurture connections, and set the tone for a year of discovery, growth, and meaningful learning experiences ahead.
As classes resumed, so did new opportunities to learn, grow through challenges, and begin a meaningful journey.

Public elementary and secondary schools under the Department of Education (DepEd) Calapan City are all set for the opening of School Year 2026โ2027, with classrooms and school facilities prepared to welcome learners following weeks of cleaning and maintenance efforts under Brigada Eskwela.
School officials reported that classrooms across the city have been thoroughly cleaned, repainted and organized to ensure a conducive learning environment for students returning to campus.
School grounds were also cleared of debris, with grasses trimmed and facilities inspected as part of preparations aimed at ensuring safety and readiness for the new academic year.
The preparations were made possible through the collective efforts of school heads, teachers, parents, volunteers and community stakeholders who participated in the annual Brigada Eskwela.
Schools Division Superintendent Susana M. Bautista said the collaboration helped strengthen school readiness efforts and ensured that learning spaces are safe, clean and welcoming for students.
As classes open, Bautista expressed optimism that the improved facilities and coordinated community support will help reinforce the delivery of quality basic education for learners in the city.

The Department of Education (DepEd) MIMAROPA has assured the public of its full preparedness for the opening of classes on June 8, with intensified coordination among schools, local government units, parents and stakeholders across the region.
The agencyโs preparations align with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen the quality of basic education, improve learning outcomes, and ensure safe and accessible schools for Filipino learners nationwide.
During the radio program โArangkada MIMAROPAโ of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) MIMAROPA and Radyo Pilipinas-Palawan on June 3, DepEd MIMAROPA Curriculum and Learning Management Division Head Dr. Wendell I. Formalejo said the agency has been continuously guiding the regionโs seven Schools Division Offices to ensure a smooth and orderly school opening.
โOur focus is to ensure a smooth opening of classes for all learners through continuous guidance and coordination with our seven Schools Division Offices in the MIMAROPA region,โ Formalejo said.
โWe are ensuring that sufficient teachers, textbooks, and other important learning resources are available for our learners and teachers,โ he added.
He said that Public Assistance and Action Centers have been activated in all provinces and cities in MIMAROPA to serve as direct channels for parents and students seeking assistance regarding school-related concerns.
โThese centers will allow parents and learners to directly raise their concerns and receive immediate assistance from DepEd,โ he explained.
DepEd MIMAROPA also conducted orientations for teachers and school heads on learning system policies, reforms, lesson planning, and the implementation of the three-term school calendar. Specialized training sessions were also held for teachers handling Grades 6, 9, 10, and 11 to strengthen curriculum implementation and learning adjustments.
Meanwhile, Brigada Eskwela activities, which started on June 1 and will continue until June 5, remain in full swing throughout the region.
โTo sustain Brigada Eskwela efforts, we continue to coordinate with parents, stakeholders, and especially local government units whose support greatly contributes to the success of our learners,โ Formalejo said.
He also assured the public that schools in MIMAROPA are โready and preparedโ for the opening of classes, with school heads ensuring clean and safe classrooms for learners.
For schools experiencing classroom shortages, particularly in isolated areas, DepEd is closely coordinating with LGUs for temporary learning spaces while optimizing class schedules.
โIn areas with classroom shortages, we are optimizing class schedules and coordinating with LGUs for temporary learning spaces to ensure that no learner will be denied access to education,โ he said.
Formalejo noted that parents and community volunteers continue to help repair school facilities as part of Brigada Eskwela efforts. | via Luis Cueto ... See MoreSee Less
